Modify Existing Table

Game version: 1.32a

Library table: Modify Existing Table (ID 543)  ·  S&S Editor slot: 24  ·  Template: 24 modify_existing_table.csv

The escape hatch: directly change ANY vanilla (or other library) table — change a cell, replace a row, or add a row. Powerful and DANGEROUS (it can corrupt the game and clashes with other mods that touch the same table); use sparingly, e.g. to disable a vanilla story group. The in-game debugger can export a table in "Mod Format" to fill these rows for you. Four width variants exist (11/41/121/261 columns); use the smallest that fits — single-cell edits always fit the 11-column version.

Columns

Column names + count are read from the live template (the game's own headers); descriptions are curated.

Col Name Description
0 comment Comment — your own reminder of what this row changes.
1 operation type Operation Type. Values: 1 = change a single cell (row#, col#); 2 = change all column values for a row (row#); 3 = add a new row at the bottom of the table
2 library name Library name — CASE SENSITIVE (exceptionally).
3 library table ID Library Table ID — if -1, use the table's normal ID instead.
4 row# Row# — the target row (ignored for Operation Type 3 / add-row).
5 col# Col# — the target column (ignored for Operation Type 2 or 3).
6 value Value — for Op 1 the new cell value; for Op 2/3 the value for Col 0. Subsequent value columns (7, 8, …) fill Col 1, Col 2, … for Op 2/3.

Notes

  • SKIP (v1.09.04+): use as a value to leave the original cell untouched — avoids clobbering small-gfx/event-pic IDs when pasting debugger-exported rows.

  • Last-loaded library wins on conflicts; two mods editing the same cell will fight.
